Ten Years Down the Road

The Suburban Princess gave me the "You're Going Places" award. Love that it has a picture of Mr. Bogart. I finally watched Casablanca for the first time a few years ago. Almost time to watch it again, and that's an honor I do not bestow lightly. Tommy Boy and Staying Alive - also worthy of multiple watchings.
Anyway, this award requires me to state where I will be in 10 years. So here goes:
1. The franchise agreement is for 10 years. We will be coming upon the decision whether to keep running the franchise. Isn't that crazy? We just signed the agreement!
2. My son will be 19. Holy Crap.
3. My divorce decree requiring me to keep my son in the same metropolitan area as his father will no longer apply and we will be free to move anywhere. (Seattle? Charleston? Water. There will be water.)
4. I will live in a house with a walk-in closet so large that I could serve dinner in there. The rest of the house can be tiny. I once house sat in a house with a closet so large that I slept in it. It was my happy place. I had just purchased my first pair of Kate Spades and I wanted to be with them.
5. Hopefully I will not have gotten any shorter than 5'1''.

That's all really egotistical.

On a serious note, I hope that the franchise will be going well enough that I will have the time and the resources to help women and children running from abusive relationships.
Ten years is a good time frame to think about because it's far enough away that it's a mixture of fantasy and reality. And you?

  1. I don't think I could look 10 years into the future. That's a really long time. 10 years ago I would have never predicted where I am today either. Hmm.

  2. I hate thinking about the future in terms of years because one day I wake up, and it's the future and I haven't done anything I thought I was ha ha.
    Love the closet idea though.

  3. Ten years ago I would have never thought I would be married and happy. So I'm just hoping I'm still married and happy in ten more years. And with a closet full of designer shoes of course....
